How pay is reported here

Salary data on Afrique.ai is contributed anonymously by people working in tech across Africa and shown only in banded aggregates. Every figure stays in the currency it was reported in; nothing is converted. Contributing your own package unlocks the full dataset for twelve months.

We separate the parts of a package

Offers are often quoted monthly, as a base salary plus allowances, so a base-only number understates what someone actually receives. Each report here records the monthly base and the transport allowance separately (a standard element under Senegal's interprofessional collective agreement), along with any thirteenth-month or year-end payment, plus annual bonus and equity, and combines them into an annualised total displayed monthly. In Côte d'Ivoire, the interprofessional agreement of 1977 sets a year-end bonus of at least three-quarters of a month's minimum category salary.

Every report is shown in the currency it was submitted in, whichever currency that is. Nothing is converted, and no currency is used as a benchmark.

What you can and cannot see

Pay is shown only in fixed bands on monthly total compensation, never as exact figures. One report produces the same band shape as twenty, so no individual's package can be identified from this site. A dataset people trust with their own numbers has to protect them.

The full dataset sits behind submit-to-unlock: share your own salary once, and when it is approved you see everything for twelve months.

Why contribute

Free, credible salary data for tech in Africa, in local currencies and broken down by company and seniority, is hard to find. The numbers that dominate search results are often unverified estimates. Every report added here, including yours, is what replaces them.

How to read these figures

Reports are self-submitted and moderated but not independently verified. Use the bands as a reference for negotiation, not as a guarantee of what any employer will offer.
